We’ve made a round of updates to Tava Guide that improve member setup, provider search, and scheduling. Together, these enhancements help care navigators move through everyday workflows with greater clarity and confidence.

Add a member from the navigation bar
What changed
You can now add a member directly from the navigation bar by clicking the plus sign. The Add member button remains available in its existing location.
Why it changed
This enhancement makes it easier to start a new member record from wherever you are in Tava Guide.
How to use it
- Sign in to Tava Guide.
- Click the plus sign in the navigation bar.
- Enter the member’s information and continue through the add-member flow.
Use the plus sign on the left navigation bar to start adding a member.
The Add Member button is still available to use.
Select from multiple in-person addresses
What changed
When a provider has more than one in-person office location, an address picker lets you choose the correct location before booking.
Why it changed
This enhancement supports more confident in-person booking when a provider offers multiple locations.
How to use it
- Find a provider with more than one in-person office location.
- Select the provider’s available appointment.
- Use the address picker to choose the correct location before confirming the booking.
Select the in-person location before confirming the appointment.
Support shorter first and last names
What changed
First and last name fields in Tava Guide now accept one character instead of requiring three.
Why it changed
This enhancement better supports the variety of member names care navigators enter.
How to use it
Enter the member’s first and last name as provided. Names with one or two characters can now be submitted.
The add-member form accepts shorter first and last names.
Copy and paste a date of birth
What changed
The date-of-birth field now accommodates more copy-and-paste formats, so a birthdate copied from another system can populate correctly.
Why it changed
This enhancement makes it easier to transfer member information from other systems into Tava Guide.
How to use it
- Copy the member’s date of birth from the source system.
- Paste it into the date-of-birth field in Tava Guide.
- Confirm that the date appears correctly before continuing.
Important: Always confirm that the date displayed in Tava Guide matches the member’s information before submitting the form.
Age and gender filters are now multi-select
What changed
You can now select multiple ages or genders at the same time when searching for providers. Search results reflect all selected options.
Why it changed
This enhancement gives care navigators more flexibility when matching members with providers.
How to use it
- Go to provider search.
- Select the age and gender filters that apply to the member.
- Choose more than one option when needed.
- Review the provider results that match the selected filters.
Select multiple age ranges or gender options when they represent the member’s preferences.
Day-of-week filters now show matching availability
What changed
When you filter by day of the week, provider cards now show the soonest opening that matches the member’s selected days.
Why it changed
This enhancement makes provider availability easier to evaluate against a member’s scheduling preferences.
How to use it
- Open provider search.
- Select the day or days that work for the member.
- Review provider cards for the soonest opening that matches those selected days.

Tip: Use “As Soon as Possible” when the member needs the first available opening rather than a specific day.
Real-time field validation at sign-up
What changed
Tava Guide now validates fields as you type, including names, dates of birth, and minor detection. You can see field issues before submitting the form.
Why it changed
This enhancement makes the add-member flow clearer as information is entered, allowing care navigators to review details along the way.
How to use it
- Enter the member’s information.
- Review validation messages as they appear.
- Correct each field before submitting the form.

Guardian email is now collected at account creation
What changed
In the provider-first scheduling flow, the guardian’s email is now collected during the add-member step for minors, before scheduling.
Why it changed
This enhancement supports a smoother provider-first scheduling experience for minors by collecting the guardian’s email at the point it is needed.
How to use it
- Start the provider-first scheduling flow.
- Enter the minor’s information during the add-member step.
- When prompted, enter the parent or guardian’s email address.
- Continue with scheduling after the required information is complete.
