Depending on the sponsor, a member may have a set number of free sessions on the Tava Health platform. If a member has any sponsored sessions remaining on their account, these will always be used before any sessions are billed to the card on file.
When Credit Cards are Charged
Tava requires most members to have a credit card on file to cover late cancellation and no-show fees if a member does not cancel their session with a 24-hour notice. The fee amounts are set by each provider, and are displayed on a provider's profile and while agreeing to a provider's policy.
If a member has used all free sponsored sessions, they will be required to add a credit card to cover insurance copays or out-of-pocket session costs if they wish to continue care. A $20 hold will be placed temporarily to validate the card and removed immediately.
Using an HSA, FSA or HRA Card
Member may use an HSA, FSA, or HRA card to pay for their sessions, but they cannot use these cards for any late cancelation or no-show fees. After a session, members can try submitting a Superbill and an out-of-network claim to insurance for potential reimbursement.
